Welcome to the Family, Boomer!

We got a new pup! He's not new exactly, because I actually got him as a 6 week old puppy when I lived in Arizona.

I wasn't able to keep him because I lived with my single mom in a small apartment (to be honest, I shouldn't have got him in the first place but I've always wanted a dog more than anything). So Boomer moved in with a family member who lived down the street, and he stayed there while I moved to Utah and went to college. He lived comfortably in Arizona until that family member had to move and figure out what to do with him. Talk about such a stressful week, I immediately went into hyper mode trying to find a solution on what to do with him.

Zach and I already had Ruger, but I didn't want to leave Boomer with an uncertain future. I felt like I would be abandoning him because he's an older, black dog - which are two factors that lessen his chances of being adopted. We decided to bring him here to Utah to live with us...  and he fits right in! I think both Boomer and Ruger really benefit from each other's company and it's nice that they have similar energy levels. I'm so excited I get to have this reunion with my pup, I've missed him and forgot some of his personality characteristics, so it's an incredible feeling to get to know him all over again!

Here's photos I took of Boomer when he was about 2-3 years old back in Arizona. He LOVES to swim and play fetch! He'll fetch sticks, oranges (like the one below), basically whatever random object you throw for him.

Here's my old guy now with his new friend Ruger. They've been getting along so well, it's been such a huge relief for me!
